Buttaccio is one of three Duke pole vaulters to qualify for the IC4A championships outdoors in 2002 and one of two to earn All-East honors at that meet.Buttaccio’s seventh place finish at Princeton notched him the All-East designation and his two 15-9 clearances, one at George Mason and another at UNC, tied him for fifth all-time at Duke in the pole vault along with teammate Jeremy Davis. Indoors Buttaccio cleared 15-5 at the ACC Championships to place a career-high fifth at that meet.
