- Finished second in the 800m (1:52.44) at the High Point Meet of Champions
- Took sixth in the 800m (1:52.50) at the VertKlasse Meeting
- Competed in the 800m at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational
- Competed in his first collegiate cross country meet, running the 6K course at the Elon Opener in 20:12.4

- Finished fourth in the 1000m (2:26.96) at the Virginia Tech Invitational clocking the fastest 1000m ever run by a Duke freshman
- Won the 800m events at the Dick Taylor Carolina Challenge (1:55.06) and Virginia Tech Invitational (1:55.02)
Prior to Duke: Attended South Warren High School … Class AAA Region 2 cross country champion senior year … received All-State Cross Country all four years of high school … earned the title of state track champion in the 2019 800m 3AAA Kentucky race … also competed in wrestling, where he was a two-time SCISA State Champion in 2015 and 2016 … valedictorian of South Warren class of 2019 … was the varsity academic team quick recall captain senior year and was also freshman class president.
Personal: Born on January 10, 2001 … son of Steve Jr. and Melissa Spurrier … has six siblings, including four brothers, Gavin, Nolan, Palmer and Hayden, and two sisters Emmaline and McKinley … brother, Gavin, is a sophomore quarterback for the Duke football team … father, Steve Jr., is a Duke graduate who played football (1990-1994) and currently is the outside receivers coach Mississippi State University … grandfather, Steve, served as the head coach of the Blue Devils' football program from 1987-89 and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a player (1986), following his Heisman Trophy winning career at Florida, and as a coach (2017), after becoming the winningest coach in Florida (1996-2001) and South Carolina (2005-15) history.
