DURHAM, N.C. – Duke freshmen
Eli Fitchen-Young and
Victoria Garces make their return to the cross country course Saturday evening, as the pair gears up to compete at the USA Track & Field (USATF) U20 Cross Country Championships.

Fitchen-Young will race in the men's 8K race at 5:50 p.m., with Garces taking the starting line for the women's 6K at 6:30 p.m. All times listed are Eastern Time. Live results for the meet are available via AthleticTiming at the link

Hailing from Santa Cruz, California, Fitchen-Young competed in four meets for the Blue Devils and posted two top-50 finished on the year, headlined by a 4K personal best (11:52.8) and seventh-place showing at the season-opening tri meet with North Carolina A&T and N.C. Central. Fitchen-Young also competed at the ACC Cross Country Championships where he notched an 8K PR of 24:17.2.

Garces enjoyed a strong rookie campaign that featured a trio of top-50 placements through four 6K races. One of Duke's top freshman harriers, the Midland, Michigan product turned in a 6K career best at the NCAA Southeast Regional, hitting the tape in 20:14.3 to place 30th. Garces' other top-50 showings took place at the ACC Cross Country Championships (43rd) and the Gans Creek Classic (47th).
