Prior to Duke: The top-rated left-handed pitcher in the state of Maryland and the No. 6 overall prospect according to Perfect Game USA … attended St. Albans in Washington, D.C., leading them to an Interstate Athletic Conference championship his junior campaign … helped the Bulldogs to a 17-8 record with a 7-1 mark on the mound, which came across 11 appearances, including nine starts and three complete games … closed out his junior season with a 1.05 ERA (9 ER/59.2 IP), collecting 77 strikeouts while only allowing 26 hits and no home runs … was named to the Washington Post All-Metro First Team, USA Today All-District of Columbia First Team and DC State Athletic Association First Team following his junior campaign … was also selected as the 2018 Interstate Athletic Conference Player of the Year, while competing in the 2019 Big 26 Baseball Classic for Team Maryland during the 2018 season … rated as a top 500 prospect in the nation by Perfect Game and the 88^th-best left-handed pitcher in the 2019 recruiting class … a two-sport athlete who also competed in soccer at St. Albans, lettering as a defender in multiple seasons.
