The Opening Draw

No. 23 Duke women's lacrosse is set to host East Carolina Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 5 p.m. inside Freeman Field at Koskinen Stadium. The game will steam on ACCNX.
The Blue Devils lead the all-time series versus the Pirates, 8-0, and own a 4-0 advantage when playing in Durham. The two teams faced off a season ago, with the Blue Devils outlasting the Pirates' comeback effort to come away with the 14-13 triumph.
The Blue Devils are 2-2 on the year, clinching an overtime win at Richmond last Saturday. Duke erupted for five goals in the fourth quarter to grab its first lead of the afternoon, but Richmond answered with six seconds remaining in regulation, knotting the score at 14-14 to send the game into overtime. Junior Caitlin Barrett controlled the opening draw, setting up sophomore Avery Doran's decisive finish 47 seconds into the extra period to lift the Blue Devils to a thrilling 15-14 victory.
