DURHAM, N.C. – Duke track and field is back in Lynchburg, Virginia this weekend, closing out the month of January at the Liberty Brant Tolsma Elite Invitational. Due to inclement weather expected in the area, the two-day meet will take place Jan. 29-30 at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.

WHAT TO KNOW:
- Duke will be represented by 61 student-athletes at the meet – 29 men and 32 women.
- The Blue Devils open competition Thursday afternoon in the men's heptathlon and women's pentathlon events. On Friday, the women's pole vault (11 a.m.) kicks off the field events while action on the track opens with prelims of the men's 60m hurdles at 12:05 p.m.
- In the newly released USTFCCCA Event Squad rankings, Duke appears among the top 10 in three events: women's 5000m (3rd), 200m (8th) and 400m (8th).
- Ten Blue Devils are ranked in the top-25 nationally in their respective events: Braelyn Baker (9th – 300m; T16th – 200m), Aden Bandukwala (17th – 1500m), Bailey Goggans (18th – 500m; 19th – 600m), Abby Hassman (23rd – 5000m), Julia Jackson (2nd – 500m), Andres Langston (12th – 500m), Stephanie Moss (21st – 5000m), Lauren Tolbert (3rd – 500m; 9th – 600m; 10th – 400m; 24th – 300m), Gemma Tutton (T24th – Pole Vault) and Beck Wittstadt (8th – 1500m; 14th – 1000m; 22nd – Mile)
- Duke's women's 4x400m quartet of Taylor Aska, Baker, Arabella Wilson and Tolbert is also tied for 17th in the NCAA.

LAST TIME OUT:
- Duke track and field turned in another solid day of competition, notching seven event wins at the Liberty Open.
- The Blue Devils earned first-place finishes in six women's events – 60m (Maya Collins), 200m (Baker), 400m (Tolbert), 800m (Goggans), 4x400m (Jackson, Baker, Lauren Phillips, Tolbert) and pole vault (Tutton), as well as the men's 1000m (Wittstadt). Wittstadt earned the win in record-breaking fashion, lowering the time on his own Duke mark.
