WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Duke track and field showed no signs of rust in its first meet after the holiday break, turning in a phenomenal performance at the JDL Mondo College Invitational.

Saturday's performance was headlined by the Blue Devils rewriting the record books, with 17 student-athletes producing meet-record times across eight different track events. Additionally, Duke earned seven event wins, totaled 22 podium finishes and tallied a handful of top-five program marks.

TOP PERFORMANCES:
- Four of the meet records came via first-place finishes in the women's 60 meters, 600 meters, 200 meters and 4x400 meter relay.
- Lauren Tolbert delivered a stellar performance in the 600m en route to securing her first win of the season. Tolbert commanded the field from the opening gun, hitting the tape in 1:28.27. The senior's time smashed the 2024 mark (1:35.83) by over six seconds while also lowering her own four-year-old college and facility record.
- Sophomore Braelyn Baker grabbed her second victory of the season – this one coming in the seeded 200m race. Baker earned the first-place finish behind a blistering mark of 23.52 seconds – the time unseating the six-year-old JDL Fast Track record (24.98) along with the four-year-old facility (23.68) and college records (23.68).
- The women's 4x400m relay saw the Blue Devils cruise to victory and completely dismantle the previous college (2014; 3:43.33), facility (2016; 3:41.61) and meet (2020; 3:57.04) records. Duke's 'A' quartet of freshman Taylor Aska, Baker, rookie Arabella Wilson and Tolbert breezed to a finishing time of 3:36.91 – nearly nine seconds faster than the runners-up.
- Sophomore Maya Collins shined in the 60m en route to tying her own school record and setting the JDL Mondo College Invitational record. After clocking 7.38 seconds in the prelims to break former Duke standout Halle Bieber's 2024 mark, Collins one-upped her performance in the finals with a dash of 7.36 seconds to secure the win.
- Eleven more Blue Devils also finished under the previous meet records in their respective events, starting with graduate student Bailey Goggans and sophomore Amber Wimbish in the women's 600m.
- Goggans crossed the line in 1:29.35 to earn the second-place finish and move into No. 4 all-time at Duke, while also besting the college and facility records. Wimbish took fourth courtesy of a time of 1:30.81.
- Junior Mia Edim turned in a pair of runner-up performances in the 60m and 200m to produce meet records of her own. Edim powered to a 60m time of 7.38 seconds and jumped one spot up to No. 2 in program lore, before clocking 24.15 seconds in the 200m.
- The quintet of Aska and graduate students Quinton Godfrey, Colin O'Malley, Lauren Phillips and Meredith Sims also logged meet records in the men's and women's seeded 200m race.
- Phillips stopped the clock at 24.16 seconds to take third in the women's race, with Aska (6th; 24.63) and Sims (9th; 24.73) also finishing in the top 10. On the men's side, Godfrey placed third and slotted himself No. 2 all-time at Duke with a mark of 21.38 seconds while O'Malley ran 21.83 seconds.
- Duke's men's 4x400m relay, women's 4x400m relay 'B' squad, sophomore Andres Langston and graduate student Dario Rock rounded out the Duke cohort of record breakers.
- The Blue Devil foursome of Godfrey, Langston, freshman Langston Thomas and junior Riley Newport earned a third-place finish in their race behind a time of 3:16.22.
- In the women's 4x400m, Duke's 'B' team of Phillips, Goggans, Wimbish and sophomore Olivia Hughes hit the tape in 3:45.84 to take second.
- Rock dashed a 60-meter hurdle meet record of 8.07 seconds in the prelims and moved into No. 3 on the Duke charts. Langston used a personal best of 47.89 seconds to place third in the men's seeded 400m.
- Duke also saw success in its field events Saturday with 10 podium finishes, headlined by a sweep of the men's and women's pole vault, a win in the men's long jump and a top-five program mark.
- Freshman Karl Pohlak excelled in his first meet as a Blue Devil, vaulting his way to the top of the competition field. Passing on the first nine heights, Pohlak cleared the bars set at 4.60m (15-1 feet), 4.75m (15-7 feet) and 4.90m (16-0.75 feet) – the latter height securing the win.
- On the women's side, senior Allison Neiders earned the victory by a wide margin as she was the lone competitor to clear four meters. After passing on the initial eight bars, Neiders turned in a final clearance of 4.18m (13-8.5 feet)Â to vault herself atop the field, with her mark over two feet higher than the runner-up.
- Graduate student Max Forte notched the only mark over seven meters en route to winning the men's long jump. Forte delivered his best jump on the fourth attempt, flying out to 7.31m (23-11.75 feet).
- John Fay took part in the men's weight throw and had a strong showing in his Duke debut. The graduate transfer came through in the clutch and delivered his best throw of the competition – 19.74m (64-9.25 feet) – on the sixth attempt. The mark earned Fay runner-up and moved him into No. 4 on the Duke charts.
