DURHAM, N.C. – Duke swimming and diving began the 2025-26 campaign with 26 combined event victories and a clean sweep against Marymount, East Carolina and Boston College inside the Taishoff Aquatic Center on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Duke swept the 200-yard medley relays to kick off the day.
- Senior Audrey Portello began her final campaign with a trio of victories, claiming the 200 free (1:51.44), 500 free (4:57.61) and 200 IM (2:02.48).
- Picking up right where she left off last season, junior Ali Pfaff swam the 100 backstroke in 53.18, etching her name at ninth in the program record book. She also swam the 100 free (50.17) as well as helping the 200 medley relay (1:40.62) and 400 free relay (3:22.94) to event wins.
- Three-time All-America Kaelyn Gridley picked up a win in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.80) and 200 breaststroke (2:15.12) and a 200 medley relay triumph.
- Senior Martina Peroni took the top spot in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:01.84.
- The women earned the top four positions in the 50 freestyle, led by freshman Heather White's 23.20. White also captured the 100 butterfly (55.33) and was a part of the first-place 400 free relay and 200 medley relay.
- Sophomore Kate Meyers-Labenz won the 200 backstroke in 1:59.94.
- On the men's side, senior Justin Wong led the way with four victories, taking the 200 butterfly (1:52.16), 100 butterfly (49.41), 400 free relay (3:02.50) and 200 medley relay (1:31.04).
- Freshman Charlie Kulp earned two wins in his Blue Devil debut, taking the 200 free (1:41.04) and 500 free (4:37.60).
- Fellow rookie Raphael Wang finished first in the 200 breaststroke in 2:02.80.
- Junior Milo Shue tallied a victory in the 50 free with a mark of 20.36.
- Wrapping up the individual men's swimming winners was junior Andrew Li with a 1:51.79 in the 200 IM to take first.
- The diving squad had Charles Berman take first in the men's one (310.20) and three-meter (340.00) events.
- Sophomore Keira Lu captured the women's three-meter with a 314.65 score and finish second in the one-meter dive (286.70).
UP NEXT
- The Blue Devils welcome Davidson to Taishoff Aquatic Center on Oct. 10, with diving set for 4 p.m., and swimming to follow at 5 p.m.
