DURHAM, N.C. – Thirteen members of the Duke softball program earned All-ACC Academic Team honors, as announced by the league office Thursday afternoon.
Recent graduate
Jada Baker and rising seniors
Cassidy Curd,
D'Auna Jennings and
Aminah Vega earned the recognition for the third time in their careers while
Amiah Burgess,
Dani Drogemuller,
Sophie Garner-MacKinnon,
Ana Gold,
Kairi Rodriguez and
Aleyah Terrell received the honor for the second time.
Thessa Malau'ulu,
KK Mathis and
Hailey Shuler each picked up their first All-ACC Academic Team nod with the Blue Devils.
Florida State led the league with 17 student-athletes on the academic team, followed by Virginia (14), Duke (13) and Louisville (13).
Duke has received eight or more selections on the All-ACC Academic Team in four straight seasons. The Blue Devils have featured at least three members on the squad in each of the last eight years.
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team's contests and 20 percent of their team's contests as a pitcher.
