Gameday Details
- The seventh-seeded Blue Devils welcome BIG EAST Champions Georgetown to Koskinen Stadium for NCAA Championship first round action Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. The game will be televised by ESPNU.
- Parking is available for fans at Science Drive Parking Garage. Those attending the game should anticipate heavy foot traffic in the area due to graduations around West Campus.
- Tickets are available for purchase here. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets prior to arriving at the stadium.
The Opening Faceoff
- Duke earned an at-large bid and the No. 7 seed following a runner-up finish at the ACC Championship. The Blue Devils (12-5) held Syracuse without a goal for the final 10:54 and just missed wide on a final-second shot to force overtime in the 9-8 loss to the Orange. Duke is making its 27th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and is a top eight seed for the 22nd time in program history.
- Georgetown captured a seventh straight BIG EAST title to earn the automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament. The Hoyas are 11-4 overall and defeated Marquette (19-8) and Villanova (16-8) in the BIG EAST Championship to earn the bid. The Hoyas feature the nation's ninth-ranked scoring defense (8.93) and are winning an average of 55 percent of their faceoffs.
- This will be the second meeting between Georgetown and Duke in NCAA Tournament action and the 31st meeting overall. The Hoyas defeated the No. 4 seed Blue Devils in the opening round in 1999. The two squads last faced off in 2017 - a 12-7 win by Duke in Washington D.C.

Series History

- Duke is playing in its 27th NCAA Tournament and is the No. 7 seed for the fifth time. The Blue Devils are 44-23 all-time in NCAA postseason games and 20-6 in NCAA first-round games.
- The Blue Devils are 35-13 in the NCAA Tournament under John Danowski and have advanced to the quarterfinals in 14 of 16 NCAA Tournament appearances since 2007.
- John Danowski has 39 NCAA Championship wins (4 at Hofstra, 35 at Duke) to lead all active Division I coaches and rank second all-time behind Bill Tierney's 44 as a DI leader.
- The Blue Devils are one of nine Division I programs to appear in at least 27 NCAA Tournaments. Duke's 44 wins in 26 showings makes it one of eight teams to have more wins than appearances. McAdorey Leads from Attack or Midfield
- Duke senior captain Andrew McAdorey returned to the midfield for the first half of the season, but has played attack the past six games. The veteran played in the midfield as a freshman and junior and lined up on attack as a sophomore. In his two-plus seasons in the midfield, the Long Island native has 67 goals and 41 assists for 108 points. He registered 61 points on attack in 2023 and has six goals and eight assists in the past six games down low.
- McAdorey's 39 points in 2022 was a Duke record for a freshman midfielder. He has at least one point in 67 of his 71 games and a goal in 55 of his 71 outings.
