DURHAM, N.C.—Duke men's lacrosse senior
Andrew McAdorey has been selected as one of 25 nominees for the 2025 Tewaaraton Award as announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation Thursday afternoon.
McAdorey is one of three midfielders on the 25-player list and one of eight representatives from the ACC. Duke's top scoring midfielder this season, McAdorey has 15 goals and 14 assists for 29 points while bouncing between attack and midfield.
The engine to Duke's offense, the Manorville, New York native has at least one point in 12 games this season and six outings with at least three. He registered his second hat trick of the season to lead the Blue Devils to a thrilling overtime win over Michigan (Feb. 22).
With Duke trailing the Wolverines, 7-5 with under five minutes to play, the senior captain put the Blue Devils on his back with two goals in a span of 1:05 to force overtime. McAdorey added a third 1:59 into the extra session to lift Duke to victory. He also had a hat trick in the 11-9 win over Saint Joseph's and dished a season-best three assists versus Air Force.
A 2024 USILA All-America first team pick, McAdorey has started every game of his career and owns 102 goals and 64 assists for 166 points. He ranks 27th at Duke in career points and 23rd career goals list.
The 12th-ranked Blue Devils close their regular season home slate Saturday against No. 8 Syracuse. Faceoff is set for 2 p.m., on ACC Network.
