- Duke and North Carolina face off at 4 p.m., on ACC Network.
- Fan parking is available at Science Drive Parking Garage [302 Science Drive].
- Duke also will be hosting its annual Duke Track and Field Invitational at Morris Williams Track and Field Stadium adjacent to Koskinen Stadium resulting in heavy foot traffic in the area.
- Fans are encouraged to buy their tickets in advance here: https://goduke.evenue.net/list/MLX. There will be three ticket gates open for the game Saturday. The entrances at Whitford Drive, Frank Bassett Drive and the Powers Gate (located closest to Wallace Wade Stadium) will all be open for fans.
The Opening Faceoff
- Duke moved to 9-3 following a 12-7 victory at Boston University. The Blue Devils used a 5-0 run to pull away from the Terriers and break a two-game losing streak. Duke used stifling defense and balanced offense for its fourth top-20 win of the year. Duke returns to ACC play Saturday against North Carolina.
- North Carolina is coming off a commanding 18-9 victory over Virginia in its ACC opener. The Tar Heels are 8-2 overall and feature a top-10 scoring offense at 14.7 goals per game. Owen Duffy (29g, 18a) and Dominic Pietramala (34g, 2a) headline the attack with a combined 83 points. Chase Cellucci anchors the defense with 16 caused turnovers and 23 ground balls while Brady Wambach is having an outstanding season at the dot, winning 67 percent of his faceoffs. Michael Gianforcaro sports an 8.47 goals against average and a .536 save percentage in goal.
- Duke and North Carolina meet for the 82nd time. The Tar Heels lead the series 44-37 with Duke going 3-2 in the past five outings. The Blue Devils look to avenge last year's loss in Chapel Hill as the rivals meet for the 65th time when ranked in the top 20.

Last Time We Met
- North Carolina outscored Duke, 9-4, in the first half and held off a late charge by the Blue Devils to post a 15-12 victory. The Tar Heels used a 6-0 run over the span of the second and third quarters to break open a 6-4 game. Duke, trailing by nine early in the fourth quarter, scored the game's final six goals to secure a berth in the ACC Tournament. Aidan Danenza led Duke with three goals and four points.
Home Sweet Home
- Under head coach John Danowski, Duke is 155-28 in games in Durham. Duke has gone unbeaten at home four times since 2007. Princeton snapped Duke's five-game home win streak on Feb. 28. Duke last lost to North Carolina at Koskinen Stadium in 2016 - a 17-16 overtime thriller.
Duke's Elite Rope Unit
- Duke's shortstick midfield unit is widely considered one of the best in the country. The Blue Devils feature the perfect mix of experience and talent at the position, which also plays a crucial role in faceoff success.
- Inside Lacrosse tabbed Duke's rope unit No. 2 nationally. Duke's top two shortstick middies - Aidan Maguire and Jack Gray – have played in a combined 105 games and combined for 164 ground balls and 73 caused turnovers.
- They are buoyed by freshmen Connor Nolen and Luke Warrington who have played in all eight games. Warrington has a goal, four ground balls and one caused turnover, while Nolen has two ground balls. Graduate student Aiden Blake adds veteran experience.
Aidan [Magoo] Maguire
- Nicknamed Magoo by his teammates, Aidan Maguire is having a career year. The junior short stick middie leads all Blue Devils with 23 caused turnovers and is second with 43 ground balls.
- He has multiple caused turnovers in eight of 12 games this season and has recorded three in four of the past eight outings. He has also picked up at least three ground balls in nine of 12 games.
- He is at the top of the ACC and 12th nationally in caused turnovers per game and is sixth in the ACC in ground balls per game (3.67). ¡ With 48 career caused turnovers, Maguire is 10th on the Duke career chart. The single-season record is 37 held by LSM Luke Duprey. Maguire is the first Blue Devil SSDM to have 20 caused turnovers in a season and is three away from tying for fifth in NCAA history for an SSDM.
