DURHAM, N.C.—Inside Lacrosse released the final rankings for the Class of 2026 and seven Duke men's lacrosse rookies are among the top 100 players. The Blue Devils landed three in the top 10 and five in the top 50.
Bennett Matthews, the USA Lacrosse High School National Player of the Year, headlines Duke's list at No. 2. A midfielder out of Chaminade, James Gillis sits at No. 3, while attackman Tedy Frisoli rounds out Duke's top 10 at No. 6.
George Kelly, a teammate of Frisoli's at St. Sebastian's, is 29th overall and New Jersey natives Thomas McAneney and Brett Lundberg complete the Duke contingent at 58th and 97th, respectively.
Duke is the lone program to have three players in the top 10. The group of seven features players who hail from five different states across four different positions. Frisoli and McAneney will look to bolster the attack unit, and Kelly will provide depth to Duke's stalwart defense. Matthews and Gillis are elite midfielders who will give the Blue Devils an extra scoring punch. Lundberg will be a part of the rope unit as a short-stick middie.
The Blue Devils return 85 percent of their points from last season and the entire starting close defense and the pair of starting goaltenders. Duke went 11-5 overall last season and advanced to the NCAA semifinals.
