- Duke and Notre Dame face off at noon Saturday, March 29 at Arlotta Stadium. The game will be televised by ESPNU and admission for fans to the game is free. Notre Dame's gameday regulations can be found here.
The Opening Faceoff
- Duke moved to 8-2 following a 13-6 setback to Denver in Dallas, Texas. The Blue Devils were highlighted by Luke Engelke's showing at the faceoff dot, winning 16-of-21 with nine ground balls. Denver held Duke without a goal for 42:03 en route to building a 13-3 lead. The loss to the Pioneers was the first since 2017.
- Notre Dame enters its first conference matchup following a week off. The Irish are 4-2 overall with one-goal losses to Maryland (11-10) and Ohio State (10-9). Notre Dame most recently raced past Michigan, 19-7. Chris Kavanagh paces the offense with 19 goals and 11 assists, while Jake Taylor has 16 goals. The Irish are giving up just 8.67 goals per game and holding opponents to .269 shooting. Will Donovan anchors the defensive effort with 11 caused turnovers while Thomas Ricciardelli is the new face between the pipes with a league-leading .595 save percentage and 11 saves per game average.
- Duke and Notre Dame meet for the 34th time in program history. The Irish hold a narrow 17-16 lead in the series and have won six straight. Duke's last win against Notre Dame was in 2021, while the last win in South Bend came in 2018.

Series History
- Duke and Notre Dame meet for the 34th time overall and for the seventh time since 2022. The Fighting Irish hold a narrow 17-16 lead in the series and have won the past six outings, dating back to the 2021 overtime win in Durham. Duke's last win over the Irish in South Bend was an 8-2 triumph in 2018.
- Many of the past six games have been shootouts with Duke and Notre Dame combining for an average of 26.8 goals in those meetings, including 16-15 Irish win April 9, 2022.

Last Time We Met
- Notre Dame jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first quarter and 8-2 halftime advantage en route to the 16-6 win in the ACC Championship title game last year. Chris Kavanagh led all scorers with three goals and two assists, while Liam Entenmann had 12 saves.
- Dyson Williams and Benn Johnston both had two goals apiece, while Brennan O'Neill was held to one goal.
Duke on the Road
- The Blue Devils are 2-0 in true road games this season. Duke is 62-26 in road matchups under head coach John Danowski. Since 2007, Duke has gone unbeaten in away games just twice - 2009 and 2010.
Back to Back Losses
- Under John Danowski, Duke fares well after losses. Since 2007, the Blue Devils have lost consecutive games just 10 times, including twice in 2011. Duke's longest losing streak under Danowski is three games in 2015. The Blue Devils have not lost back-to-back games since losses to Syracuse and North Carolina in 2019.

Duke's Depth at the Dot
- Duke has a wealth of depth at the faceoff dot with three options in junior Luke Engelke, sophomore Cal Girard and freshman Ben McCarthy. All three have taken at least 40 faceoffs this season with each of them having impressive individual outings. Engelke has the edge in percentage and faceoffs attempted (71-121, .587). McCarthy is just behind him at 49-of-96 (.510). Girard, who won 67 percent of his faceoffs against Air Force, is 24-48 for .500.
- Engelke has taken the opening draw six times and both Ben McCarthy and Cal Girard have done so twice.
- This season marks the first time Duke has had a new stick at the faceoff dot for the first time since 2020. Jake Naso graduated after taking 1,688 career faceoffs. Girard and Engelke returned after having taken a combined 164 in their careers.
