MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Duke men's golf team returns to action on March 16, beginning play at the General James Hackler Championship. Held at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club, on March 16-18, the event is named after James F. Hackler Jr., who was a major general in the United States Air Force and a pioneer of the Grand Strand's golf industry. The course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, plays to a distance of 7,233 yards and a par of 72.
The 16-team field is hosted by Coastal Carolina and No. 19 Duke is one of two top-25 teams in the field, joined by No. 1 Auburn. The remainder of the field consists of Baylor, College of Charleston, East Tennessee State, Furman, High Point, Kent State, Liberty, Louisville, Missouri, NC State, Nevada, North Florida and Wake Forest. The three-round event will feature 18 holes of play across three days, beginning with the first round on Sunday, March 16.Â

Duke last played in the event during the 2022-23 season, finishing in eighth place with a 1-under, 863, across the three rounds. Chinn was the low Blue Devil that year, finishing in a tie for 17th overall with a 2-under, 214.Â
