LYNCHBURG, Va. – It was a stellar weekend for Duke track & field at the Liberty Kick-Off, as the Blue Devils posted seven event wins, broke three school records and turned in 10 top-five program marks Friday at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.

The sophomore trio of
Braelyn Baker,
Maya Collins and
Andres Langston paced the efforts, unseating the program records in the men's and women's 300 meters and the women's 60 meters to headline a phenomenal team performance. Baker and Langston each added another top-five Duke mark to cap their strong weekends.

TOP PERFORMANCES
- Duke's women tallied four of the team's seven event victories, highlighted by sweeps of the 60m, 300m and 1,000 meters.
- Braelyn Baker's performance in the women's 300m dash was one for the record books. The Carnation, Washington, native delivered a sensational performance en route to the first-place finish, clocking a blistering 36.68 seconds to claim the win. Her mark shattered the Duke, ACC and facility record and slotted the sophomore No. 9 all-time in NCAA lore.
- Lauren Tolbert and Julia Jackson joined Baker on the podium, finishing second and third, respectively. Tolbert notched a personal best and hit the tape in 37.48 seconds to move into No. 2 all-time at Duke, while Jackson finished in 38.01 seconds.
- In the women's 60m, Baker, Maya Collins and Mia Edim secured their spots on the Duke top-five list behind personal bests in the prelims. Collins dashed 7.36 seconds to unseat the three-year-old record and Edim (7.41) moved into a tie for No. 3 all-time. Baker's first-round mark of 7.44 seconds tied for fifth best in program lore.
- In the finals, Collins captured the win via a time of 7.38 seconds. Baker (7.45) finished runner-up while Edim (7.48) took third.
- Andres Langston and Quinton Godfrey rewrote the program record books in the men's 500 meters via strong individual performances. Langston blazed to a personal best of 33.80 seconds to earn the win and slot himself atop the program charts, with Godfrey's time (34.29) tied for No. 5 all-time.
- On the women's side, Jackson picked up the win and registered her second top-five program mark of the day. The Scotch Plains, New Jersey, product stopped the clock at 1:11.04 – good for a personal best and the second-fastest 500m time in Duke history.
- Graduate student Bailey Goggans paced the Duke efforts in the women's 1,0000m, crossing the line in 2:49.49 to earn the win. Sophomore Amber Wimbish turned in a career-best of 2:52.85 to place second and senior Anna Corcoran took third with a mark of 2:54.31.
- Junior Sean Morello rounded out the contingent of Friday winners for the Blue Devils, posting a time of 8:13.65 to win the men's 3,000-meters event.
- Shay Meseck-Schick captured the first event win of the season for Duke via a strong showing in the men's pole vault Thursday evening. The junior took on just two heights during the competition, clearing the first bar (4.55m) on the initial attempt before notching the winning mark – 4.75m (15-7 feet) – on the second vault.
- Duke added five more second-place finishes, including  Langston and Tolbert in the men's and women's 500m. Behind another personal best (1:03.55), Langston moved to No. 3 all-time at Duke. Tolbert finished runner-up on the women's side after clocking 1:11.05.
- Sophomores Valerie Jirak and Nathan Levine and graduate student Meredith Sims tallied the final three second-place marks for the Blue Devils. On the track, Jirak clocked 8.68 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles and Sims dashed 24.51 seconds in the 200 meters. Levine competed in the men's high jump and cleared 2.05m (6-8.50 feet).
- Senior Gianna Locci got the Blue Devils' weekend off to a fast start with a personal best and runner-up finish in the women's long jump. Locci delivered her best jump on her fifth attempt of the evening, flying out to 6.18m (20-3.25 feet) – good for No. 5 all-time at Duke.
- Sophomore Harrison Green took part in the pole vault and earned a third-place finish after clearing 4.25m (13-11.25 feet). In the men's 60mH, graduate student Michael Bennett claimed third after clocking 8.18 seconds.

Duke resumes indoor competition after the holiday break. The Blue Devils will ring in the New Year in Winston-Salem, taking part in the JDL Mondo College Invitational set for Jan. 17.
