Welcome to the 2024-25 Iron Dukes Membership Year!
For Duke Athletics and Duke's student-athletes being a Blue Devil is about more than just a game. It is about the friendships made, lessons learned, experiences had, and the beginning of a lifelong path toward growth and success. The vibrant culture of philanthropy that enables Duke Athletics to provide a world-class experience to all those who are part of the Blue Devil family is vital to the sustained success of the university and every Duke student-athlete. Your decision to donate to the Iron Dukes makes a direct, meaningful, and lasting impact both now and in the future.
An Iron Dukes membership starts at $100 annually. Iron Dukes members can make a direct gift or make a pledge and honor that pledge in installments throughout the fiscal year, which runs from July 1 through June 25. All pledges for the 2024-2025 year must be paid in full by June 25, 2025.

Ways to Support Duke Athletics:
ANNUAL FUND: Intercollegiate athletics relies on the devoted commitment of alumni, family and friends who demonstrate their loyalty year after year. This continued annual support is essential for Duke to meet the ongoing and ever-changing needs of sponsoring varsity athletics. When you give to the Iron Dukes Annual Fund you help Duke Athletics fulfill the most pressing need of providing scholarships to Duke's student-athletes.

A single athletic scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year is $94,533 with estimated academic total costs for the 2024-2025 year at $23.5M in tuition and fees, plus $7.5M in room, board, and cost of attendance.

VARSITY CLUB: The Iron Dukes Varsity Club facilitates sport-specific funding for Duke University's 27 varsity sports, as well as Marching Band and Spirit Squad.
Funds raised for each team's Varsity Club are used by that program for annual sport-specific needs. While each team's needs are different, Varsity Club support allows each program to excel as they compete against the best competition in the country.

ENDOWMENTS: An endowment is one of the most powerful ways to help Duke Athletics, as your gift establishes an enduring legacy that will benefit Duke student-athletes in perpetuity.
Approximately 30% of Duke Athletics scholarship costs are funded by endowment income. Endowments provide current revenue and invested growth, assisting Duke now and far into the future. Endowment level gifts ranging from $100,000 to $5,000,000+ provide long-term sustainability for Duke's athletic programs and ensure that the pursuit of athletic and academic excellence continues to be a shared rallying point for the entire Duke community.

MULTI-YEAR PLEDGES: We greatly encourage and appreciate multi-year pledges. A multi-year pledge is not only helpful to Duke Athletics, but it can also be advantageous for you in cutting down on annual solicitations and more efficient planning, all while improving your Iron Dukes priority. Additionally, Iron Dukes members who commit to a 5-year pledge of $1,000 or more annually or include Duke Athletics in their estate or retirement plans can receive additional lifetime giving credit to their Iron Dukes account. Lifetime giving credit directly impacts a donor's priority level.
