Duke Announces 2024 Volleyball Schedule

DURHAM - With the 54th season in program history approaching this fall, head coach Jolene Nagel and the Duke volleyball program announced the 2024 schedule Tuesday.
The 31-match regular-season slate runs from August to November and features 10 matches against 2023 NCAA Tournament teams, including NCAA semifinalist Pittsburgh. Recent ACC additions SMU and Stanford also earned spots in last year's tournament.
"We're excited to announce our 2024 schedule," Nagel said. "Our preseason schedule includes hosting some quality competition versus perennial NCAA tournament teams. Each week during the preseason we'll find ourselves being challenged to the utmost both at home and on the road. It will take a team effort to work through these competitive matches. As we take these opportunities, one match at a time, we will build towards being prepared for an always tough ACC schedule."
The Blue Devils make the short trip down the road to NC Central for an exhibition match Wednesday, Aug. 21 before officially kicking off the regular season with the first of two home tournaments in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Duke welcomes Colgate, Kansas and South Carolina Aug. 30 - Sept. 1 before matches against LSU, Davidson and FIU the following weekend. Duke hits the road for the first time in 2024 as it travels to State College, Pa., to face Princeton, St. John's and the host Nittany Lions (Sept. 13-14).
Duke continues its busy September with its final non-conference tune-ups before the ACC slate with Michigan State and Michigan on Sept. 20 and 21.
With the completion of non-conference action, Duke will turn its attention to the ACC, beginning with Boston College and Syracuse at home the weekend of Sept. 27. The Blue Devils' schedule features a home-and-home series with Miami, North Carolina and Wake Forest. Duke will see Boston College, Cal, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech and Stanford exclusively at home and hits the road to face NC State, Louisville, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, SMU, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
The Blue Devils concluded the 2023 season 19-10 overall and 10-8 in ACC competition. In addition to seven newcomers, Nagel returns 10 letterwinners from last year's squad, including second team All-ACC selection Kerry Keefe.
Under Nagel's guidance, she has led the Blue Devils to 12 NCAA Tournament appearances, including an ACC-record seven consecutive trips to the postseason event from 2005-11. Nagel earned her 700th career victory November 5, 2023 as the Blue Devils downed Virginia Tech in straight sets. With the win, Nagel became the ninth active Division I head coach to reach 700 wins during her 36 seasons.
The full television schedule will be released at a later date by the ACC and ESPN. Every Duke home game will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks – ACC Network or ACC Network Extra.
