DURHAM – Sophomore
Aminah Vega blasted a two-run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to walk off ninth-seeded Boston College, 2-0, and send Duke into the ACC Semifinals on Thursday afternoon at Duke Softball Stadium.
Vega finished 2-for-5 on the day with a home run and a single to lead the Blue Devil offense. Senior
Claire Davidson also registered two hits following a pair of doubles, including one right before Vega's long ball.
Senior
Jala Wright dominated inside the circle, surrendering just five hits and three walks in her 10.0 innings of work. The Charlotte, N.C., native also fanned 17 batters during the contest to set a single-game program record.
HOW IT HAPPENED
	- Boston College was quick to load the bases in the opening frame, using a pair of hits and a walk, before Wright retired the final batter to leave the bases loaded.

	- Wright then settled in and did not allow a runner to advance into scoring position until the top of the fifth inning.

	- The game remained a pitcher's duel between Wright and Boston College's Abby Dunning as both sides combined to allow just one hit over the next two innings to keep the game scoreless and force extra innings.

	- Vega finally broke through in the bottom of the 10th with a two-run shot over the left center field wall to walk it off, 2-0. Her long ball also brought home Davidson, who led off with a double to left center.

NOTES
	- Wright's 17 strikeouts set a single-game program record, passing Peyton St. George's mark of 15 against NC State in 2022.

	- Wright improves her season ledger to an impressive 17-1 and shifts into fifth all-time on Duke's single-season chart.

	- Vega blasted her 11th long ball and 13th multi-RBI game of the year.

	- Duke is now 15-11 all-time in extra-inning games, including 3-1 this season.

	- With the win, the Blue Devils advance to their fourth-straight ACC Championship semifinal game.
