- Graduate closer Charlie Beilenson collected his first win of the season on Friday night, working two innings while allowing one hit and striking out three.

- Junior Jonathan Santucci did not factor into the decision on Friday against Miami but worked five innings of five-hit baseball and struck out six batters. Duke is now 6-2 on Friday's and 7-1 in series openers this season.

QUOTES
- "What I told our team after the game was what a great job by Santucci to grind his way through the fifth inning without his best stuff. We were really opportunistic there against a really good arm. Ziehl is throwing as good as anybody in the league right now. He threw a complete game with 15 strikeouts last week against Clemson and tried to do it to us tonight. Our ability to run the pick play in the seventh was a really big moment. Stone being able to throw out Cyr was a huge moment. Nobody deserves the opportunity to have a walk-off moment then Ben Miller with the year he is having." – Head coach Chris Pollard on his overall thoughts on Friday night.
UP NEXT
- Duke and Miami continue the three-game series on Saturday afternoon from Jack Coombs Field. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
