DURHAM - No. 24 Duke travels to Charlotte, N.C., for the 2024 ACC Women's Lacrosse Tournament at American Legion Memorial Stadium. The Blue Devils will face third-seeded and third-ranked Boston College Wednesday at 8 p.m. Jay Alter, Sheehan Stanwick Burch and Dana Boyle will be on the ACC Network call.
Duke in the ACC Tournament
- Under the direction of head coach Kerstin Kimel, the Blue Devils are 13-25 all-time in the ACC Championship and 0-2 in quarterfinal games. 2024 marks the fourth time Duke has received the No. 6 seed.
- Duke will face Boston College in conference tournament action for just the fourth time. Duke won in 2009 (16-5) and 2010 (17-6) but fell in last year's quarterfinal (15-9), ending its season.
- The two teams face off in the quarterfinals for the second straight year.
- Duke is in search of its 20th trip to the ACC Tournament semifinal and the first since 2019.
- The Blue Devils own one ACC title, which came in 2005.
Scouting the Eagles
- The Eagles come into Wednesday's contest as the No. 3 ranked team in the nation with the fourth-best scoring offense nationally.
- Boston College is coming off an 11-10 overtime victory against No. 2 Syracuse on Thursday.
- The Eagles are led by Rachel Clark with 71 points from 58 goals while Mckenna Davis and Emma LoPinto own 66 and 61 points, respectively. Defender Sydney Scales leads the way with 25 caused turnovers and 23 ground balls.
- Goalie Shea Dolce has amassed nearly 900 minutes in the cage this season and is 13-3 with an 8.40 GAA and a .457 save percentage.
Series History
- Duke and Boston College meet for the 24th time in program history with the Blue Devils leading the all-time series, 15-8.
- The Blue Devils are 2-1 against the Eagles at neutral sites but have lost six of the past seven meetings.
- The two teams face off in the quarterfinals for the second straight year.
Looking Ahead
Should Duke advance, it will face either second-seeded Notre Dame or seventh-seeded Clemson Friday in the semifinals at 8 p.m., on ACC Network.
