CLEMSON, S.C. – A balanced effort on offense pushed No. 3 Duke past No. 19 Clemson, 13-9, in the conference series opener at McWhorter Stadium on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first two frames went scoreless before Davidson sent a sacrifice fly to center field to bring home redshirt sophomore Jada Baker, who led off the third inning with a bunt.
- Vega followed that up with an RBI-double to left center field to push the Blue Devils ahead, 2-0.
- A pair of RBI-singles from Baker and Torres drove in three additional runs in the top of the fourth to push a 5-0 lead.
- Clemson's Alia Logoleo cut into the Blue Devils' gap with a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth to make it a 5-2 ballgame. The Tigers then used back-to-back base hits in the fifth to push another run across the plate and pull within two.
- Vega responded in the sixth with a grand slam straight out of center field to extend Duke's advantage to 9-3.
- The Tigers then sparked a rally in the home half, scoring three runs off four hits and a Blue Devil error to stay close heading into the final frame.
- Duke kept its offense rolling through the seventh, adding four runs off Torres' RBI-single to center field and a three-run shot from Davidson to stretch the lead to 13-6.
- Clemson continued to fight back in the bottom of the seventh, loading the bases on a pair of walks and a single. The Tigers put together a one-out rally that scored three runs before the Blue Devil defense could grab the final two outs and claim the victory, 13-9.
