The Opening Faceoff
- Duke hits the road for four of its next five games. The Blue Devils start the road swing at Loyola, March 9 with a 3:30 p.m., faceoff at Ridley Athletic Complex.
- The Blue Devils are 24-13 all-time against the Greyounds and have won six of the past seven matchups, including last year's 17-9 victory in Durham.
- Loyola opened its season with a dominant 18-10 win over then-No. 11 Georgetown. The Greyhounds then lost three straight before upending Towson in overtime Feb. 27. Loyola fell to Colgate last weekend in its Patriot League opener. The Greyhounds are averaging just 9.33 goals per game.
- The Blue Devils rebounded from the loss to Penn with a commanding 17-8 victory over No. 14 Princeton. Duke still leads the nation in scoring with 18.67 goals per game with Josh Zawada ranking seventh nationally at 5.83 points per game. Patrick Jameison helps anchor a defense that is allowing 10 goals per game. Jameison ranks fourth in save percentage and sixth in goals against average.

Series History
- Duke and Loyola are meeting for the 38th time overall and for the 25th straight season. The Blue Devils are 24-13 all-time against the Greyhounds and have won five of the past six meetings. Loyola is Duke's longest running opponent outside of the ACC.
- Under head coach John Danowski, Duke is 15-5 against the Greyhounds and has never lost to them in consecutive seasons. In Baltimore, Loyola leads the series 8-6, winning the last matchup at Ridley, 12-10, in 2022.
