DURHAM – Duke fell to fourth-ranked Boston College, 18-3, Saturday afternoon at Koskinen Stadium.

The No. 2 scoring offense in the nation was on full display as the Eagles outshot the Blue Devils, 34-21, with 26 on cage.

Nine different Eagles had a hand in the win and were led by Rachel Clark with four goals and an assist while Emma LoPinto had three goals and two dimes.

Duke's three goals were from Caroline DeBellis, Katie DeSimone and Lexi Schmalz, while Schmalz also dished an assist.

How it Happened

Boston College took an early 8-1 lead after the first 15 minutes of play, including five goals in the first three-and-a-half minutes, and tacked on four more in the second quarter.
Leading 12-2 at the half, the Eagles used another series of runs in the second half to open up the scoring even more.
As a team, the Blue Devils limited the Eagles to just one goal in the fourth quarter as Clark found her fourth of the day.
Duke was scoreless the final 25 minutes of the game.

Duke drops to 6-5 overall and 2-3 in conference play while the Eagles improve to 9-2 (4-1 ACC).
The all-time series moves to 15-8 in favor of Duke.
Duke is now 1-5 against ranked opponents this spring.
The three goals were the fewest since 2012 when Duke fell to Maryland.
Kay Conway led the team with three ground balls.
Boston College won the draw control battle, 14-9, as Duke was nearly flawless on clears (14-of-15).
Boston College goalie Shea Dolce collected 11 saves while Duke utilized three goalies — Madison Drebing, Kennedy Everson and Courtney Kaufman.
