DURHAM – Duke left-handed pitchers
Jonathan Santucci and
Andrew Healy were tabbed a part of the top-150 best starting pitchers in college baseball this season, as announced by
D1Baseball. Santucci was named the seventh best starting pitcher, while Healy was selected as the 108th on the list.
Santucci, a 6-foot-2 left-handed pitcher, started seven games for Duke before having his season cut short due to injury. The 2022 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Camp invitee posted a 2-2 record on the mound with a 4.30 ERA. He punched out a career-high 11 batters against Wake Forest (3/10) and allowed a season low two hits against North Carolina (3/24). In his first four starts of the year, Santucci tallied 38 strikeouts to just four walks.
Healy, a 6-foot-6 left-handed pitcher, is a draft eligible sophomore for the Blue Devils in 2024. In his rookie campaign, Healy generated a 2.32 ERA on the mound with 45 punchouts and seven walks allowed. He finished the 2023 season with a 5-1 record in 11 starts, working 42.2 innings. Healy was tabbed the Dick Howser Pitcher of the Month for April after tallying a 5-0 record and a perfect 0.00 ERA. He was named a
Perfect Game Freshman first team All-American, a
NCBWA Freshman All-American and a
Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American.
