DURHAM - The NR/17 Duke swimming and diving program returns to Taishoff Aquatic Center on Friday, Feb. 2 to square off against Queens University. The meet is set to start at 3 p.m. while diving begins at 2 p.m.
Friday is also Duke's senior day, as the program will recognize 10 student-athletes prior to the meet.
NOTEABLES
- In the one-meter diving event, Margo O'Meara and Ali Watson placed on the podium in both first and third respectively. O'Meara posted a score of 321.45, while Watson tallied a score of 286.65. Watson also finished second in the three-meter dive with a score of 340.65.
- Will McCollum finished third on the men's side of the one-meter dive, collecting a score of 350.55.
- The Blue Devils A-Team 200-yard Medley Relay team consisting of Ali Pfaff, Kaelyn Gridley, Aleyna Ozkan and Tatum Wall finished second to kick off the event, clocking in with a time of 1:37.32.
- On the men's side, Duke's A-Team 200-yard Medley Relay team consisting of Michael Jiang, Michael Volpe, David Chang and Milo Shue finished third with a time of 1:29.33.
- In the women's 200-yard Freestyle, freshman Tatum Wall tallied a first-place podium finish, clocking in with a time of 1:47.30. Teammate YiXuan Chang placed second in the event with a time of 1:50.14.
- Emily Lenihan and Madeline Meredith collected second and third place finishes respectively in the 100-yard Backstroke. Lenihan clocked in at 53.87, while Meredith touched in third with a time of 54.83.
- On the men's side of the 100-yard Backstroke, Jack Christian and David Chang occupied the first two podium spots in the event.
- In the 100-yard Breaststroke, Gridley swam away from the competition as she and Sarah Foley finished one and two in the event. Gridley touched in at 59.48, while Foley finished with a time of 1:01.24.
- Jiang tallied a first-place finish in the 200-yard Backstroke, touching with a time of 1:44.81, while Chang finished third with a time of 1:47.38.
- For the second time this season, Gridley bested a Duke program record, clocking in first-place finish with a time of 2:07.91 in the 200-yard Breaststroke.
- In the women's 100-yard Butterfly, Ozkan touched in first with a time of 53.00, while Catherine Belyakov clocked in a time of 53.65 for third place.
