SETTING THE SCENE
- Duke (2-6) returns to Cameron Indoor Stadium after hosting four dual matches at two local high schools. The Blue Devils welcome Davidson for a 7 p.m., contest inside Cameron Indoor Stadium on Friday, Dec. 6.Â
- Duke opened the home slate on Friday, Nov. 22 at Jordan High School against eighth-ranked Michigan but ultimately dropped in a 35-11 decision. The following day, the Blue Devils welcomed American, Presbyterian and Utah Valley to Seaforth High School for a quad match on Saturday, Nov. 23.
- The Blue Devils fell to American and Utah Valley, 33-6 and 38-6, respectively, before bouncing back with a dominating 38-9 victory over Presbyterian to close out the day.
- Redshirt sophomore Connor Barket went a perfect 4-0 on the weekend to pace the Blue Devil wrestling team. Barket continued his nine-match winning streak and moved to 12-2 on the season. He also tallied his first ranked victory of the year after defeating No. 33 Jack Forbes of Utah Valley in a thrilling 7-6 decision.
THE SERIES
- Duke and Davidson are set to meet for the 51st time in program history with the Blue Devils leading the all-time series, 39-11. Duke has won 21 of the last 22 meetings with the lone loss coming during the 2007 season.
- Friday's match will mark the first meeting in Durham since 2012 when the Blue Devils posted a 43-0 shutout victory over the Wildcats.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Duke wrestling team hosted American, Presbyterian and Utah Valley in a quad match at Seaforth High School on Saturday, Nov. 23.
- As a team, the Blue Devils dropped their first two duals to American (33-6) and Utah Valley (38-6) before bouncing back with a dominating 38-9 victory over Presbyterian to close out the day.
- In the first match of the day against American, sophomore Aidan Wallace collected his fourth straight win of the season at 165 with a 5-0 decision against Kaden Milheim. Heavyweight Connor Barket also posted a 5-0 decision versus Emmanuel Ulrich for the Blue Devils' other three points in the match.
- The Blue Devils went up against Utah Valley in their second match with sophomore SP O'Donnell collecting a 7-0 decision versus Veli Quintanilla. Down late in his match against 33rd-ranked Jack Forbes, Barket registered a late escape and takedown with approximately 20 seconds remaining to register a 7-6 victory.
- In the final match of the day, sophomore Ethan Grimminger opened things at 125 with a 5-2 overtime victory against Brayden Adams of Presbyterian to give Duke an early 3-0 lead. The Blue Devils added 24 points over the next five bouts to stretch a 27-0 gap.
- Presbyterian responded nine straight points from a tech fall and major decision at 174 and 184, respectively, before Duke collected its final two victories to seal the 38-9 win.
BARKET TABBED ACC WRESTLER OF THE WEEK
- Redshirt sophomore heavyweight Connor Barket was tabbed ACC Wrestler of the Week last week after securing victories against No. 9 Michigan, No. 23 Utah Valley, American and Presbyterian.
- Barket went 4-0 on the weekend to move to 13-2 overall on the season. He is now riding a nine-match winning streak heading into Friday's contest with Davidson.
- On the weekend, Barket opened with an 8-5 decision over Michigan's Ira Jenkins and then collected a 5-0 victory versus Emmanual Ulrich of American.
- Barket then posted the first ranked victory of his collegiate career as he collected a late escape and takedown to come-from-behind to defeat 33rd-ranked Jack Forbes of Utah Valley.Â
- With a fall at 4:08, Barket closed the weekend with a win over Presbyterian's Morvens Saint Jean.
- The honor for Barket is the second of his collegiate career as he received ACC Wrestler of the Week on Jan. 23 of last year.
BARKET AND WALLACE NET RANKINGS
- Duke redshirt sophomore Connor Barket moved up in the rankings, while sophomore Aidan Wallace entered the WrestleStat ledger at heavyweight and 165 pounds, respectively.
- A native of West Lafayette, Ind., Barket went a perfect 4-0 and registered his first ranked victory last weekend for the Blue Devils. He has collected a 13-2 record on the season and owns a nine-match winning streak as he moved to No. 22 nationally.
- Barket came through in the clutch against 33rd-ranked Jack Forbes of Utah Valley as he registered an escape and takedown late in the third period for a come-from-behind win in a 7-6 decision. It marked Barket's first ranked win of his short career.
- After seeing action in only four matches a season ago, Wallace has jumped out to a 13-4 start on the year. He has won 10 out of his last 12 matches and went 3-1 last weekend for the Blue Devils. Wallace, who is from Mahwah, N.J., opened at No. 33 at the 165-pound weight class.
HOT STARTS
- After failing to win a match as a rookie last year, Peter Chacon has totaled a 7-7 ledger to open the season, including four straight wins at the Journeyman Classic in Bethlehem, Pa.
- Coming off a freshman season with a 1-3 ledger a season ago, sophomore Aidan Wallace has opened the year with a team-best 13 wins. He is 7-1 in dual match play at 165. Wallace has won six out of his last seven contests.
- Freshman Vincent Lee has featured a solid start to his collegiate career by totaling nine wins at 197.
- Riding the momentum of totaling a team-high 16 wins this past season, redshirt sophomore Connor Barket has opened the 2024-25 campaign with a 13-2 ledger, which includes nine consecutive wins.
