DURHAM, N.C. — The Duke wrestling team dropped an ACC contest with 15th-ranked Pittsburgh Sunday inside Card Gymnasium. The Panthers totaled a 40-0 victory to move to 9-2 overall and 1-1 in the ACC, while the Blue Devils dropped to 6-9, 0-2.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In his first match against a ranked opponent as a Blue Devil, redshirt freshman Dylan Ross faced 23rd-ranked Kade Brown of Pitt at 149 pounds.The duo went through a scoreless first period and then Ross registered key riding time seconds to start off the second period.Brown was able to collect a reversal to take a 2-0 lead and then Ross posted an escape to get on the board, 2-1.Ross, who is from Edgewater, New Jersey, notched an escape to open the third to even the ledger, 2-2.Brown took a 5-2 lead with a takedown in the third and ended with a 5-3 decision to take the victory over Ross.
- Duke graduate student Aurelius Dunbar had a solid match against Jared Keslar of Pitt at 165 pounds.Keslar registered a late takedown in the first period and then added an escape in the second.Dunbar, who is from Greencastle, Pennsylvania, got on the board with an escape to start the third to cut into the lead, 4-1, and dropped a 4-1 decision to Keslar.
- At 174 pounds, the fans were treated to a ranked matchup featuring Duke's 20th-ranked Aidan Wallace versus Pitt's 23rd-ranked Luca Augustine.The duo finished the first period scoreless.Wallace, who is from Mahwah, New Jersey, opened the second period with an escape to take a 1-0 lead.Augustine came back to notch a takedown to go ahead, 3-1, in the second and ended with a 3-1 decision.
- Another ranked matchup closed the action Sunday with Duke's 20th-ranked Connor Barket versus 15th-ranked Dayton Pitzer.Pitzer opened with a takedown in the first period and led 3-1 early.Barket, who hails from West Lafayette, Indiana, trailed 4-1 late in the third, before Barket registered a takedown to go ahead 5-4 with nine seconds remaining.Pitzer evened the match with a riding time point sending the contest into overtime.Barket and Pitzer both had chances early before Pitzer collected a takedown 55 seconds into overtime for the win.

- Dylan Ross dropped to 1-1 in the ACC and 5-6 in dual match play.Â
- Freshman Mikey Boulanger returned to action for the first time since Dec. 21, after being out with an injury.Boulanger made his ACC debut in the match.
- Aurelius Dunbar wrestled in his first career ACC match.Â
- Aidan Wallace dropped only his second dual match of the season, 13-2, and is now 22-3 on the season.Â
- Connor Barket moved to 16-4 on the season with the loss. Three of his four losses this season have come against ranked foes.Â

- Duke remains at home as the Blue Devils host Virginia Friday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m., inside Cameron Indoor Stadium.
