DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women's basketball is excited to celebrate its 50th season of varsity competition in 2024-25.
The Blue Devils will celebrate 50 seasons of varsity status dating back to the 1975-76 campaign. Since that inaugural season, Duke has grown from its early beginnings into a national powerhouse, with each decade seeing its defining moments, standout players and historic achievements that have helped shape the program's illustrious women's basketball legacy.
Over the past five decades, Duke has amassed over 1,000 program victories, 38 winning seasons, 20 ACC Championships (12 regular season, eight tournament), 26 NCAA Tournament Appearances, 18 Sweet 16's, 11 Elite Eights, four Final Fours, two NCAA Runner-up finishes, 21 All-Americans, two National Players of the Year and 35 1,000-point scorers, among numerous other accomplishments and accolades. From first varsity wins to NCAA Final Fours and All-Americans, Duke's story is one of resilience, innovation and excellence.

Throughout the year, fans will have the chance to relive some of the magical moments by iconic players and teams that have influenced the program's rich tradition over the past five decades through captivating in-game elements, themed giveaways, a social media content campaign and much more. Fans are also encouraged to share their personal stories and favorite memories that have made Duke women's basketball an unforgettable experience for them.
The season-long celebration culminates Sunday, Feb. 23, when Duke hosts Syracuse (2 p.m.) on Alumni Day. Join the Blue Devils for a historic day as they honor the program's past while setting the stage for the next 50 years.
Additionally, Duke women's basketball has unveiled several new gameday enhancements for the 2024-25 season. The new ventures, slated to be rolled out this season, will enhance the overall fan gameday experience and elevate an already amazing Cameron Indoor Stadium experience. 2024-25 Women's Basketball Gameday Enhancements
- Champions Club - Enjoy exclusive hospitality before every Duke women's basketball home game. Gain early access 90 minutes before tip-off, savor a full meal and enjoy drinks, including alcohol for guests 21+ with valid ID. Menus and game dates will be shared throughout the season. - Devils Deck - For the first time ever, enjoy Duke women's basketball from the baseline with this ticket add-on experience. The all-new Devils Deck offers all-inclusive access with small bites and exclusive experiences to help cheer Duke to victory!
- The 1975 Club – A new and exclusive alumni hospitality experience coming this season. More information on schedule, pricing and exclusive alumni experiences to come.
- Cameron Indoor Stadium Videoboard – Courtesy of a Duke partnership with Daktronics in conjunction with EwingCole architecture, Cameron Indoor Stadium now features a three-display center hung videoboard system set to improve the gameday presentation with videos and statistics. Along with the new videoboard, additional upgrades include four new corner ribbon displays, along with 2 LED scorers tables and 11 press table displays along the sides of Coach K Court.
- In-Game DJ - Fans can look forward to an electric experience on gamedays with an in-game DJ, who will pump up the crowd and keep the energy going at key moments throughout the game.
- Duke University Pep Band – The Duke University Pep Band will relocate to Section 17, providing a new and exciting in-game experience for players alike.
