Duke Falls Short to Chattanooga, 33-11

DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke wrestling team (4-8) came up short against Chattanooga (6-2), falling 33-11 inside Cameron Indoor Stadium on Friday evening. Two Blue Devils – sophomore Connor Barket and senior Conor Becker -- registered wins on the night.
Sophomore Nick Tattini and freshman Sean O'Donnell both wrestled in exhibition matches.

HOW IT HAPPENED

A native of Mount Gilead, Ohio., Becker registered his first pin of the season and second of his career against Chattanooga's Logan Webster in the 184-pound bout.
Becker went up early 3-0 with a takedown 30 seconds into the match and sealed the win by a fall just over a minute later.
In the 285-pound match, Barket recorded his third tech fall of the season against Kendrick Curtis. Barket showcased his dominance early and came away with the 18-2 victory.
In O'Donnell's exhibition match, he recorded his first victory of the season with a 11-8 decision over Dayne Dalrymple.

NOTES

With the win, Barket moves to a team-high 13 wins on the season.
Freshman David Hussey and O'Donnell saw action in their first dual match of their Blue Devil careers.
Hussey entered the starting lineup at 174 pounds while O'Donnell competed in an exhibition match at 141 pounds.
Becker recorded his first fall of the season after pinning Chattanooga's Logan Webster in the 184-pound bout.

UP NEXT
The Blue Devils (4-8) will begin conference play on Friday, Jan. 26, hosting Virginia at 7 p.m., for Duke's Centennial Celebration.
