DURHAM – Duke features a split squad this weekend as the Blue Devils gear up to compete at two meets. A host of athletes will make the trek to Virginia for the Hokie Invitational (Jan. 19-20) while others head up the road to Chapel Hill for the UNC Dick Taylor Challenge on Jan. 20.
MEET INFORMATION – CAROLINA CHALLENGE
- Duke will be represented by 20 individuals at the Dick Taylor Carolina Challenge this weekend.
- Action gets going Saturday morning at 9 a.m., with the men's weight throw while track events are scheduled to get underway at 1:30 p.m., via the women's 60m hurdles.
MEET INFORMATION – HOKIE INVITE
- 38 Blue Devils are set to compete at the Hokie Invitational – 19 men and 19 women
- On Friday, Duke hits the track for an evening of events beginning with the finals of the women's (5 p.m.) and men's (5:30 p.m.) mile while the men's long jump kicks off the field events at 7:30 p.m.
- The women's pole vault (11:30 a.m.) is first up on the Saturday slate for the Blue Devils before track competition resumes with the women's DMR at 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
- Duke track and field opened the New Year with a strong team performance as the Blue Devils captured nine event wins and made several revisions to the Duke record books Saturday at the JDL Mondo Invitational.
- Graduate student Ezra Mellinger and senior Brianna Smith paced the efforts on the day with two event wins apiece while the Blue Devils also secured first-place finishes from Halle Bieber, Christian Johnson, MaKayla Mason, Tia Rozario and Paige Sommers in their respective events.
