DURHAM – Duke track and field is back in action this weekend as the Blue Devils unwrap the New Year and resume indoor season competition at the JDL Mondo Invitational on Saturday at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.
MEET INFORMATION
- The Blue Devils have an early start to the day with field events set to get going at 9:30 a.m., with the men's and women's shot put, respectively.
- Action on the track commences at 10 a.m., for Duke via the men's 60m hurdle prelims.

WHAT TO KNOW
- Head coach Shawn Wilbourn enters his fourth season as Director of Track & Field and Cross Country.
- Wilbourn was tabbed the ACC Women's Coach of the Year as well as the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Region Women's Coach of the Year for his leadership efforts.
- The Blue Devils are coming off a strong 2023 campaign, highlighted by the Duke women winning the ACC Outdoor Championship – its second in three seasons and first outright title – with a conference-record 145.5 points.
- Overall, the Blue Devil women produced 33 top-five program marks and four program records. On the men's side, Duke registered 12 top-five program marks and shattered school records in the 4xMile relay, discus, hammer throw and javelin.
- The Blue Devils opened the 2023-24 campaign back on December 2 with a Blue-White intrasquad scrimmage.
- On the same day, Duke junior Amina Maatoug competed at the BU Season Opener as the lone representative for the Blue Devils.
- Maatoug placed third overall behind a blistering school-record time of 8:46.89, shattering the previous 3K Duke record. Her time checked in at No. 3 in the NCAA and ranks seventh all-time in the event.
