WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – A small group of Duke track and field athletes competed at the JDL ASICS Last Chance Invitational Saturday, with the Blue Devils winning six events to headline the weekend performances.

Duke earned first-place finishes in the men's and women's 60-meter hurdles, women's seeded 200 meter, men's 800 meter, along with the men's and women's pole vault. Overall, the Blue Devils tallied seven top-five placements and a trio of top-five program marks.

TOP PERFORMANCES:
- Meredith Sims went 2-for-2 as the graduate student earned first-place finishes in the women's 60mH and 200m via times of 8.47 seconds and 23.14 seconds, respectively.
- Graduate student Dario Rock turned in a collegiate best of 7.99 seconds in the prelims of the 60mH en route to moving up to No. 3 all-time in Duke history. In the finals, Rock hit the tape in 8.02 to earn the victory.
- Junior Riley Newport ran his way into the program record books with a win in the men's 800m. Newport clocked a personal best of 1:49.09 – No. 3 all-time on the Duke charts.
- The Blue Devils swept the men's and women's pole vault behind strong showings from senior Jonathan Horn and junior Gemma Tutton.
- Tutton vaulted up to No. 2 all-time in program lore with a clearance of 4.52m (14-10 feet), while Horn recorded a mark of 4.85m (15-11 feet).
- Duke competed in the women's DMR for the first time this season. The quartet of graduate student Abby Hassman, sophomore Braelyn Baker, senior Lauren Tolbert and veteran Stephanie Moss turned in a time of 10:51.48 – good for No. 2 all-time in program lore.

UP NEXT:
The Blue Devils turn their attention to the postseason, starting with the ACC Indoor Championships. The three-day conference meet is slated for Feb. 26-28 at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston, Massachusetts.
