DURHAM – Duke baseball head coach
Chris Pollard announced Wednesday the addition of
Brian Sakowski as the Blue Devils Director of Recruiting, Analytics and Player Development. Sakowski joins Duke after working with
Perfect Game USA as a National Crosschecker.
"On behalf of the entire Duke baseball family, we are thrilled to welcome Brian and Marissa to Durham," Pollard said. "From his time as a National Crosschecker and National Scouting Director at Perfect Game, Brian brings extensive scouting, recruiting and data background to our program. Simply put, he is one of the most connected and respected people in amateur baseball. More importantly he is a terrific person, who will build strong relationships with our players, recruits, families and alums. I am excited for him to hit the ground running."
Sakowski spent the previous six years with
Perfect Game USA as a National Crosschecker and National Scouting Supervisor.
"It's been a lifelong dream of mine to be a part and contribute to a powerhouse college baseball program," Sakowski said. "I can't even begin to thank Coach Pollard and the rest of the baseball staff enough for the opportunity and for welcoming my wife and I with open arms. Let's go to Omaha!"
While with the
Perfect Game staff, Sakowski coached with the Orchard Lake St. Mary's Prep Academy in Orchard Lake, Mich. During his time as the Varsity assistant coach, Orchard Lake won the 2019 and 2021 MHSAA State Championships and committed over 20-plus NCAA Division I recruits, as well as 30-plus overall players to colleges across the country.
He received a degree in Political and Social Sciences from Central Michigan University in 2014.
