DURHAM – The Duke volleyball team (1-2) is set for its home opening weekend against Loyola Maryland and West Virginia. The Blue Devils take on the Greyhounds Thursday at 6:30 p.m., before a 4 p.m., contest Saturday against the Mountaineers. Both contests will be streamed on ACCNX.
LAST TIME OUT
- Duke went 1-2 in its opening weekend at Purdue's Reamer Club Xtra Special Premier. The Blue Devils fell to No. 16 Purdue (3-1) and Loyola Chicago (3-0) before a 3-2 victory over No. 18 Creighton.

LOYOLA MARYLAND
- Thursday marks the first meeting between Duke and Loyola Maryland.
WEST VIRGINIA
- Duke and West Virginia meet for the 10th time in program history and for the first since 2014. The Blue Devils lead the all-time series 8-1 and have won seven consecutive.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
LOYOLA MARYLAND
- Loyola Maryland enters Thursday's contest 2-1 in the early fall with wins over Niagara (3-0) and Robert Morris (3-1) over the weekend. Offensively, the Greyhounds are led by Lauren Link with 45 kills and 4.09 kills/set and Kacy Sekunda with 32 and a .343 hitting percentage. The Greyhounds work between two setters -- Bryanne Soares and Sekunda -- while Rose McDermott leads the defensive unit with 45 digs. As a team, Loyola Maryland is hitting .221 percent through three games.
WEST VIRGINIA
- West Virginia is 2-1 overall after the College of Charleston Tournament last weekend. The Mountaineers are led by Bailey Miller with 39 kills and a .264 hitting percentage. Setter Lauren DeLo has dished 89 dimes as the team is hitting .274 percent through three matches.
SIGHTS ON MILESTONE
- The Duke volleyball program has its sights set on a major milestone. Since its inception in 1971, the Blue Devils have accumulated 999 wins, just one shy of the 1,000-win plateau.
- Duke will be the 43rd program in NCAA history to reach the milestone.
HOME COURT DUBS
- Duke is set for 14 home contests this fall at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
- A season ago, the Blue Devils went 12-4 at home.
- The Blue Devils are 264-92 at home since Jolene Nagel took over the program in 1999.
NEXT MATCH
- Duke will host Elon Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 6:30 p.m., at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
