DURHAM – Fresh off a 3-1 victory over Jacksonville on Friday night, the Duke men's soccer team turns its attention to a match against Furman at 2:30 p.m., on Sunday afternoon at Koskinen Stadium. The Blue Devils (1-0-0) and Paladins (1-0-0) both picked up wins in their respective season openers on Friday as part of the John Rennie Classic. Duke secured the aforementioned win over Jacksonville while Furman defeated Elon, 2-1, in the first match of the day in Durham.
Sunday's match is part of a Duke soccer doubleheader, with the women's team taking on Wisconsin in the opening act of the day at noon. Any tickets purchased by fans are good for both games and the first 100 students in attendance can pick up a voucher at the women's game that can be redeemed at halftime of the men's game for a free t-shirt.

SERIES NOTES
- Duke takes on Furman for the 13th time in program history, with the Blue Devils holding a 11-1-0 advantage overall. Head coach John Kerr is 4-0-0 against Furman during his time at the helm of the program
- The last meeting between the two teams came in 2021, with Duke winning 3-2 in Greenville, S.C. Miguel Ramirez helped secure the victory, scoring the go-ahead goal in the 72nd minute
LAST TIME OUT
- Fourth-ranked Duke won its season opener for the seventh straight season, defeating Jacksonville, 3-1, on Friday night. The Blue Devils outshot the Dolphins, 16-8, including a 12-6 advantage in the second half to rally from a late first-half concession.
- Drew Kerr leveled the score in the 75th minute with his first career goal off a free kick. Senior captain Nick Pariano gave Duke the lead with a penalty kick in the 80th minute and Ruben Mesalles put home the third goal of the night with another set piece goal in the 87th minute.
BUILDING ON '22 MOMENTUM
- Duke is coming off an undefeated regular season in 2022, finishing the season with a 13-2-4 record
- The Blue Devils won the ACC Coastal for the second consecutive season with an unblemished 5-0-3 ACC ledger and made its eighth appearance in the NCAA Tournament under head coach John Kerr advancing to the quarterfinals
- Kamran Acito returns after winning ACC Freshman of the Year, and is joined by ACC honorees Nick Pariano and Amir Daley (All-ACC second team), Antino Lopez (All-ACC third team) and All-ACC Freshman selections Kenan Hot and Axel Gudbjornsson
KERR REACHES 150
- With the win over Jacksonville, head coach John Kerr reached 150 victories as Duke's head coach. He becomes just the second Blue Devils' head coach to accomplish the feat, joining his head coach and mentor, John Rennie.
- Kerr's current .581 win percentage at Duke (150-103-37) is fourth among Duke coaches with Rennie leading the way at .706.
