Duke Soccer to Debut Kicks for Kids Program This Summer

DURHAM, N.C. — The Duke men's and women's soccer programs have partnered with Duke Children's to launch the Kicks for Kids initiative in support of Pets at Duke, an impactful service of the Duke Cancer Patient Support Program.

Pets at Duke brings specially trained therapy dogs to patients receiving care in the hospital and clinics, providing comfort and companionship during their treatment. Visits with therapy dogs have been shown to help reduce stress, anxiety, pain, and feelings of isolation while creating moments of connection, joy, and emotional support for patients and their loved ones.

Kicks for Kids pledges are made based on the combined goals, assists, shots, corner kicks and saves recorded by both the Duke men's and women's programs. During the 2025 season, the men's soccer team totaled 634 combined statistics, while the women collected 826.Â

If you are interested in supporting the Blue Devil soccer partnership with Duke Children's, you can pledge based on those statistics throughout the season or make a one-time donation. Pledges start at $0.10, $0.50, $1.00 and $2.50. Based on the 2025 season totals, pledge amounts would range from $63.40 to $3,650. Supporters may also make a one-time donation in any amount. To support Kicks for Kids, head here to sign up now.Â

The women's team will host a pair of home exhibition contests Aug. 5 against Wake Forest at 7:30 p.m., and Aug. 8 versus the Carolina Ascent FC at 1:30 p.m. Both matches are free and open to the public. Duke opens the regular season Aug. 12 at Southern California.Â

The men's squad opens exhibition action at home Aug. 8 at 5 p.m., against UNC Wilmington and then welcomes UNC Asheville Aug. 11 at 6 p.m. Both matches are free admission. The Blue Devils close exhibition play at James Madison (Aug. 15) and open the regular season at home against Seton Hall Aug. 20 at 8 p.m., as part of a tripleheader that includes women's soccer taking on FIU and a neutral site game between Campbell and Cal Baptist.Â
