CHARLOTTE, N.C. – SiriusXM will air an Atlantic Coast Conference volleyball preview show on Wednesday, Aug. 16 at 8 p.m. on SiriusXM channel 371. Hosted by SiriusXM and ESPN's Katie George, a former Louisville volleyball standout, the show features interviews with ACC head coaches and student-athletes.
In addition to head coach
Jolene Nagel, the Blue Devils were represented by graduate student libero
Madison Bryant.
A 2022 graduate transfer from Tennessee, Bryant was Duke's starting libero before suffering a season-ending injury just six matches into the 2022 fall. During that span, she collected 80 digs for a 4.00 digs per set average and added 28 assists and seven aces. In her last season at Tennessee, she finished the year with a career-high 370 digs and a 3.43 digs per set average to help lead the Vols to a NCAA Tournament appearance. She looks to bounce back from her knee injury last fall and be a strong defensive force for the Blue Devils this fall.
The preview show will replay several times over the coming days and will be available on demand on the SXM App with clips on SiriusXM social media channels.
ACC Volleyball is poised for yet another outstanding year after an appearance in the national championship, two teams in the national semifinals for the second time in league history and five NCAA teams.
Three ACC teams were ranked in the preseason American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll with two in the top 10. Preseason No. 4 Louisville and No. 5 Pitt both advanced to last season's NCAA Championship semifinals and each finished with more than 30 wins. In its third consecutive appearance in the AVCA Preseason Poll, Georgia Tech sits at No. 20.
The regular season begins Friday, Sept. 1 with all 15 teams in action. ACC Network is slated to air 20 conference volleyball matches with coverage beginning on Sunday, Sept. 2 with 2022 national semifinalist Pitt hosting No. 14 Kentucky at noon. More than 150 ACC volleyball matches are slated for ACC Network Extra. Follow all the ACC volleyball action with updated scores, schedules at standings at theACC.com.
