SEATTLE, Wash. – Duke left-handed pitcher
Luke Fox was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2023 MLB First-year Player Draft on Tuesday, rounding out the four Blue Devils selections this season.
Fox, a left-handed pitcher from Waukesha, Wisc., joined
Jay Beshears,
Alex Mooney and
Adam Boucher selected in the 2023 MLB Draft.
The four draft picks in 2023 brings Duke's total of selections in the MLB Draft to 96 all-time and 41 under head coach
Chris Pollard. It marks the sixth season under Pollard where the Blue Devils have had four or more players selected in the MLB Draft.
Luke Fox – Los Angeles Dodgers – Round: 17; Pick: 520
Fox did not see action for the Blue Devils in 2023 as he recovered from arm surgery. He was in the Blue Devils' weekend rotation during the 2022 season, producing a career ERA of 4.74 in his 35 appearances (17 starts). In 2022, the Waukesha, Wisc., native started as the Blue Devils' Saturday guy, before transitioning to the bullpen. He produced 142 career strikeouts in 108.1 innings of work.
