DURHAM – Duke softball earned its third-consecutive bid to the NCAA Softball Championship after being selected the No. 8 seed during Sunday night's selection show.
The Blue Devils earned hosting rights for the second time in program history and welcome Campbell, Charlotte and George Mason to Duke Softball Stadium beginning Friday.
Duke opens its NCAA Championship run with a noon game against George Mason on Friday before Charlotte faces Campbell at 2:30 p.m. The Blue Devils have faced both Campbell and Charlotte during the regular season and hold a 3-0 ledger against the in-state foes. The regional is a double-elimination format.

Overall, Duke is 5-5 in the NCAA Championship after reaching the program's first NCAA Super Regional last season. The Blue Devils have outscored opponents at the event 44-32, including their first NCAA run-rule win over No. 19 Georgia in 2022. If Duke advances out of regional play, its seeding earned the Blue Devils their first hosting rights for the NCAA Super Regional round in program history.
All-session tickets for the 2023 Durham Regional will go on sale Monday at 3 p.m. Single session tickets will go on sale on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
