- Parking Sunday will be in the West Campus Grounds Lot. Duke University Commencement takes place Sunday morning so traffic will be heavy around campus until about 1 p.m.
THE OPENING FACEOFF
- Duke, 13-2 on the year, is the top seed in the NCAA Tournament and hosts Delaware in the opening round at Koskinen Stadium. This is the fourth time the Blue Devils have earned the top spot in the bracket.
- Delaware is 13-4 overall and defeated Marist, 25-10, in the play-in game. The Blue Hens are champions of the Colonial Athletic Conference and have won three straight and are averaging 14.94 goals per game.
- The attack unit of Andrew McAdorey, Brennan O'Neill and Dyson Williams have paced the Blue Devils. The trio is averaging 8.3 goals and 12.5 points per game and has 53 percent of the team's 355 points. Duke has gotten goals from 23 different players this season.
- Duke's defense has been solid overall, holding teams to just .281 shooting and to 11.3 goals per game. The Blue Devils are allowing 10.67 goals per game.
- Graduate student transfer William Helm is solid in the cage, averaging 10.07 saves per game and sporting a .517 save percentage.
- Junior faceoff specialist Jake Naso features a .638 win percentage at the dot to rank fifth nationally. He ranks sixth in faceoffs taken (398) and third in faceoffs won. Roland Hockenberry handles the majority of restarts for Delaware, winning 141-of-282 (.500).

SERIES HISTORY
- Duke and Delaware are meeting for the 15th time overall. The series stands tied at 7-7 with the Blue Devils winning the past four matchups. Duke last played the Blue Hens 12 years to the day in the opening round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament, winning 15-14.
- The Blue Devils defeated Delaware last season, 19-14, at Koskinen Stadium. Andrew McAdorey led the way in the game with six points (4g, 2a), while Dyson Williams had five (4, 1). Blue Hen attackman had four goals and an assist in the setback.

DUKE IN NCAA TOURNAMENT TIDBITS
- Duke is making its 25th NCAA Tournament appearance and is the No. 1 seed for the fourth time. The Blue Devils are 40-21 all-time in NCAA postseason, 16-8 in first-round games and 9-2 as the top seed.
- The Blue Devils are 31-11 under John Danowski in the NCAA Tournament and have advanced to 11 NCAA Semifinals under his watch.
- The Blue Devils are one of 10 Division I programs to appear in at least 25 NCAA Tournaments. Duke's 40 wins in 24 showings makes it one of eight teams to have more wins than appearances. The Blue Devils rank fifth in NCAA Tournament wins.
BLUE DEVILS AS NO. 1 NCAA SEED
- The Blue Devils sit atop the NCAA bracket for the fourth time overall and the first time since 2014. Duke is 9-2 overall as the top seed and won the 2014 NCAA Championship.
DANOWSKI IN NCAA TOURNAMENT
- John Danowski has led the Blue Devils to 15 NCAA appearances. Prior to Duke missing the tournament in 2022, Danowski had led a team to the NCAA Tournament for 15 consecutive seasons, tying him with two other active coaches - Bill Tierney (Princeton, 1990-04) and Kevin Corrigan (Notre Dame, 2006-21) - with a streak of 15 consecutive NCAA berths.
- A Danowski-led team has appeared in 23 NCAA postseasons, eight at Hofstra and 15 at Duke. He is 35-19 all-time in NCAA Tournament action and currently ranks fourth in the records books in overall wins. Tierney leads the way with 44.
BLUE DEVILS IN NCAA TOURNAMENT
- Duke is 4-2 in the NCAA Tournament since 2019 - this year's graduate student group's freshman campaign. Only 11 current players have seen action in the NCAA Tournament with it being canceled in 2020 and the Blue Devils missing postseason in 2022.
