DURHAM – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced the complete list of honorees for the 2023 Scholar All-America Team with four members of the Duke wrestling program earning recognition.
Graduate student
Jarred Papcsy, seniors
Jonah Niesenbaum and
Patrick Rowland and freshman
Ethan Grimminger were four of the 291 individuals across 73 institutions to be recognized for their combined efforts on the mat and in the classroom.
Niesenbaum and Rowland earned their second selection to the team after first earning the honors in 2022 while Papcsy and Grimminger both earned the distinction for the first time.
Overall, Duke ranked 11th in the 2023 Division I Men's Team Scholar All-American Top 30 with an impressive team GPA of 3.4587, joining NC State as the two ACC representatives.

Glen Lanham. In his tenure, the Blue Devils have now gone 11 consecutive seasons with at least one NWCA Scholar All-American.
