DURHAM – The United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) has announced the 2023 NCAA Fencing All-Region selections, which was released by the organization Monday.
These awards are determined based on result and field size at each of the NCAA Regional competitions.
First-team selections for the Mid-Atlantic/South Region included
Allen Marakov (epee),
Lukas Dannull (saber) and
Anneke Zegers (saber).
Terence Lee (saber),
Stephen Kim (saber),
Chloe Beittel (epee),
Christina Ferrari (foil) and
Kunling Tong (saber) earned a spot on the second team while
Rachel Kowalsky (epee),
Sarah Lurye (epee),
Rachel Koo (foil) and
Zsofia Walter (saber) garnered honorable mention nods.
Marakov highlighted Duke's regional performances with a second-place finish while Dannull and Zegers went third and fourth, respectively. All other honorees placed in the top 10 of their respective events.
