BRIGHTON, Mass. – Sophomore
Ana Gold crushed a two-run home run over the left field wall in the top of the seventh inning to lead the 11th-ranked Duke softball team to a 6-4 victory over Boston College at Harrington Athletics Village on Friday.
The Blue Devils (34-8, 11-5 ACC) now own a six-game winning streak, while handing the Eagles (19-20, 2-11 ACC) their 11th conference loss of the season.

- The Eagles responded in the bottom of the fourth with a three-run home run off the bat of Zoe Hines to even the score, 3-3.
- Boston College added in another run in the fifth on a pair of singles and a hit by pitch to pull ahead, 4-3.
- Junior Francesca Frelick led off the sixth inning with a single to left field, before advancing on another Eagles' error.
- Redshirt-freshman Jada Baker laid down a bunt in the ensuing at bat to score sophomore Kelsey Zampa, pinch running for Frelick, to tie the game at 4-4.
- Gold plated Duke's two go-ahead runs via the long ball in the final frame. Her hit also scored Tapia, who reached on an error from the Eagles' shortstop.
NOTES
- Gold has homered in five of the last eight games and tallied her 14th multi-RBI game of the year.
