DURHAM, N.C. – Coming off two straight weekends in Florida, the Blue Devils return home to North Carolina, traveling to Elon for a single non-conference matchup Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Hunt Softball Park.
The Blue Devils bring a 7-3 record into the contest after finishing 3-2 in their five games at the Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational over the weekend. Duke picked up a pair of top-15 wins after defeating No. 8 Texas A&M, 8-6, and No. 12 LSU, 5-3, in back-to-back games Friday. The Blue Devils also topped Oklahoma State in a 9-6 thriller before falling to No. 20 Georgia and Missouri to conclude action in Clearwater.

Aminah Vega led the way at the plate, finishing 11-for-17 (.647) on the weekend with four RBI and nine runs scored. Redshirt junior

Tyrina Jones also played a major role on offense, batting 5-for-11(.455) and 6-for-15 (.400), respectively. The duo combined to drive in 13 of Duke's 27 total runs through the five games.
Elon enters the matchup with a 1-7 record, after going 1-3 in the Phoenix Invitational last weekend. The Phoenix hosted Mount St. Mary's, Manhattan and Dayton at Hunt Softball Park. The Phoenix's lone win came from a 12-1 run-rule victory over Mount St. Mary's Thursday. Junior pitcher Anna Dew set a career-high with 10 strikeouts in the contest, while home runs from Peyton Fitzpatrick and Payton Swart helped power the Phoenix offensively. As a team, the Phoenix hit .290 across four games, with five players batting over .300. Elon also hit six home runs at the tournament, including a pair of grand slams, while Teagan Baulsir, Mary Moss Wirt and Swart each drove in a team-high five RBI.

The midweek matchup marks the 10th all-time meeting between the two teams. The Blue Devils lead the series, 8-1, and hold a 2-1 record when playing on the road. The pair last met in 2025 with Duke earning a 10-0 run-rule victory in Durham.
UP NEXT
The Blue Devils hit the road again, traveling to Cathedral City, California to compete in the annual Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic Feb. 19-22. Duke is set to compete in five games over the four-day invitational, taking on three 2025 WCWS participants in Oklahoma, UCLA and Oregon, as well as Texas A&M and Hawaii.
