Gameday Details – K9s in Koskinen
It's a top-10 matchup in Durham Friday night as No. 7 Loyola comes to Koskinen Stadium to take on fourth-ranked Duke. It also will be bring your dog to the stadium night as K9s in Koskinen makes a return. Fans are welcome to bring their furry friends and sit in the far stands opposite the team benches. Those bringing their four-legged buddies will need to
sign a waiver prior to entering the stadium.
The Opening Faceoff
- Duke, 5-1 on the year, moved up one spot to No. 4 in the USILA Coaches' poll following its 14-13 overtime victory at Syracuse. The Blue Devils return home for three games in a span of 11 days.
- Loyola comes in sporting a 4-1 record and a No. 7 national ranking. The Greyhounds have wins over Maryland and Johns Hopkins, while their loss came against Rutgers. They most recently defeated Patriot League foe Lafayette, 15-11.
- The attack unit of Andrew McAdorey, Brennan O'Neill and Dyson Williams have paced the Blue Devils. The trio has combined for 79 of the team's 140 points with all three having at least 22 points to their names. Duke has gotten goals from 17 different players this season.

- Loyola comes to Durham sporting a 4-1 overall record and a No. 7 national ranking. They Greyhounds own wins over then No. 1 Maryland (12-7) and then-No. 9 Johns Hopkins (13-8). Their loss came to current No. 6 Rutgers (6-10). Loyola most recently defeated Lafayette in Patriot League action, 15-11. The matchup with Duke will be its third game in 10 days.
- Freshman Matthew Minicus and junior Davis Lindsey headline the offense with 15 points apiece. Minicus is the top goal scorer with 12, while Lindsey has dished 10 assists. Senior Evan James owns 11 goals and 14 points.
- Veteran Matt Hughes anchors the defensive efforts and has 10 caused turnovers to rank 10th nationally in the category. He also has 21 ground balls.
- Senior Eric Pacheco is in his first season as the primary faceoff specialist. He is 53-of-109 (.486) and has 34 ground balls. Chris Cottone has taken 14 faceoffs. In goal, Luke Staudt also is in his first season as the starter between the pipes. He has played all but eight minutes and owns an 8.61 goals against average and a .625 save percentage. He ranks fifth and second nationally in those respective categories, while his 14 saves per game are 13th.

- Duke and Loyola meet for the 37th time overall. The Blue Devils are 23-13 all-time against the Greyhounds. The two squads have played every season since 2000 - a 24-year stretch. Loyola is Duke's longest running opponent outside of the ACC.
- Under head coach John Danowski, Duke is 14-5 against the Greyhounds and has never lost to them in consecutive seasons. At Koskinen Stadium, the Blue Devils are an impressive 15-2, including the 12-7 victory in 2019.
