No. 12 Blue Devils Win Four Over No. 9 Michigan in ACC-Big Ten Dual

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – No. 12 Duke rowing captured four wins in its six races against No. 9 Michigan to open the ACC-Big Ten Double Dual in Charlottesville, Va. on Friday.
The Blue Devils claimed victory in the 3V4, 2V4, 2V8 and V8 races while staying competitive with the Wolverines in the 3V8 and V4 races to finish second.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Duke's Third Varsity Eight opened up the action on the Rivanna Reservoir after stroking its way to a second-place finish against two novice crews from Michigan and clocking a time of 7:30.5.
The Blue Devils cruised their way to a pair of first place finishes in the 3V4 and 2V4 races before Michigan claimed the final V4 race of the day just 3.7 seconds ahead Duke's V4 boat.
The Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight rounded out the competition with two additional wins over the Wolverines after posting winning times of 7:00.2 and 7:10.1, respectively.
