KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Duke swimming and diving began the 2023 Women's NCAA Championships on Wednesday evening, hosted by the University of Tennessee at the Allen Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center. The Blue Devils concluded the first day of competition, scoring two points in the 200 Yard Medley Relay and 800 Yard Freestyle Relay.
NOTEABLES
- Duke's 200 Medley Relay team, consisting of Emma Shuppert, Kaelyn Gridley, Aleyna Ozkan and Tatum Wall, clocked a time of 1:36.72 on the night. The time was 16th in the country and scored two points for the Blue Devils in the Championship.
- The Blue Devils 800 Freestyle Relay team, consisting of Sarah Foley, Yixuan Chang, Catherine Purnell and Wall, clocked a time of 7:06.56 to place 18th in the event.
- The 800 Freestyle Relay team competing in the NCAA Championships this season is the first for the Blue Devils in program history.
- The 200 Medley Relay team of Shuppert, Gridley, Ozkan and Wall received honorable mention All-America for their finish in the event.

- The Blue Devils continue the 2023 Women's NCAA Championships at the Allen Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center on Thursday. The Prelims begin at 10 a.m. with the 500 Freestyle, 200 IM, 50 Freestyle and 1 meter dive.
