Opening Faceoff
- Duke enters the midweek contest after a commanding 19-7 victory over Bellarmine in the season opener Feb. 4. High Point is playing its first official game of 2023.
- High Point finished with a 7-8 record in 2022 and was picked to finish fourth in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll. Junior attackman Brayden Mayea was a preseason all-A10 pick after posting 40 goals in 2022. High Point is in the A10 with Richmond, Saint Joseph's, UMass, Hobart and St. Bonaventure.
- The attack unit of Andrew McAdorey, Brennan O'Neill and Dyson Williams paced the Blue Devils against Bellarmine. The trio combined for 17 of the team's 30 points with O'Neill leading the way with seven points (2g, 5a). Williams contributed four goals and McAdorey had three goals and two assists.
- Duke's defense was equally as successful, holding Bellarmine without a score for 32:52 and without a shot for the first 11:34 of the first quarter. Rookie Henry Bard finished his collegiate debut with three ground balls and a caused turnover.
- Graduate student transfer William Helm made the start in the cage and picked up eight saves and allowed four goals in 47:30. Helm came to Durham following four seasons at Division III St. Lawrence where he was the 2022 Liberty League Co-Defensive Player of the Year.

About High Point
- High Point enters the 2023 season following a 7-8 campaign in 2022. The Panthers are looking to Brayden Mayea to step up to fill the hole left by Asher Nolting who finished his career with 344 points. Nolting had 34 goals and 47 assists last season. Mayea, a preseason All-A10 pick, registered 40 tallies in 2022.
- Top defensemen PJ Peters and Trey Smith also graduated after anchoring the defensive effort last season.
- Parker Green is back in the cage for the Panthers. He has started 32 of his 33 games at High Point and sports a .478 save percentage and a 13.51 goals against average.
- Collin Hoben and Joey Dahlkemper are likely to share faceoff duties after taking 323 of the 426 restarts last season. They went 45 percent from the dot in 2022.

- Duke is 9-1 all-time against High Point since the first meeting in 2013. The Panthers' lone win was a 13-9 victory in 2019. BRENNAN O'NEILL
- Sophomore Brennan O'Neill reached 100 points against Syracuse (80g, 20a), reaching the benchmark in 29 games. He is 34th on the career points chart and became the 22nd Blue Devil to score 100 career goals. He is 14 points away from the 150-point benchmark and will be the 30th Blue Devil to hit the mark.
JOHN DANOWSKI
- With 444 victories to his name, Duke head coach John Danowski is six victories shy of the 450 mark. He would be only the third men's lacrosse coach across any division to amass that many.
DYSON WILLIAMS
- Williams needs five goals to join the century club and 39 points to hit 150. He had 52 points a year ago.
JAKE NASO
- Duke's primiary faceoff man the past two seasons, Naso needs 16 victories at the dot for 500 career wins. He leads all junior faceoff specialists in career victories. He is averaging 14.2 faceoff wins for his career and is on pace to climb into the top 30 in NCAA history in total wins this season.
