DURHAM – Duke track and field makes the trip back to Winston-Salem where the squad will compete at the JDL Camel City Invite slated for Feb. 3-4 at the JDL Fast Track.
MEET INFORMATION/WHAT TO KNOW
- The Duke women moved up to No. 17 in the USTFCCCA rankings and boast the No. 2 pentathlon unit along with the No. 4 800m squad in the #EventSquad rankings.
- Friday's slate features the women's high jump (1 p.m.), men's pole vault (1 p.m.), men's high jump (5 p.m.) and women's pole vault (5 p.m.) in the field events. On the track, the Blue Devils will compete in the 60m hurdles with the prelims set for 2 p.m. (women's) and 2:15 p.m. (men's), respectively.
- Duke gets going Saturday morning at 11:40 a.m., with the men's 3,000m to be followed by the women's 3,000m race at 12:45 p.m. The Blue Devils wrap up competition in the women's elite mile slated for 3:08 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
- Duke track and field saw another program record fall this weekend as the Blue Devils' women's distance medley relay (DMR) delivered a standout performance en route to notching a first-place finish and unseating the 10-year-old school record.
- The Blue Devils tallied seven additional top-five program marks and won six other events over the course of the weekend as well.
- The women's DMR team of Dalia Frias, Megan McGinnis, Lauren Tolbert and Amina Maatoug produced the stoutest performance of the afternoon as the quartet established Duke's eighth new program record this season.
- Behind a time of 10:56.68, the second-fastest in the NCAA, the group ran its way to a first-place finish while unseating the previous-best mark set in 2013 (11:01.50) by nearly six seconds.
- Chyler Turner tied the program's third-fastest 60m hurdle time as she clocked 8.34 seconds in the semifinal to punch her ticket to the next round. In the final, she ran her way to a first-place finish via a time of 8.36 seconds.
- Maatoug turned in another stellar performance while competing in the 800m for the first time this season. The sophomore positioned herself at the front of the pack from the jump and never fell outside the top-five runners in the field, finishing the race in 2:04:42 to win the event and slot herself No. 2 all-time on the Duke charts.
- Also competing in the 800m race, Tolbert got off to a fast start and inserted herself among the top-three runners, where she remained throughout the duration of the race. The freshman finished as runner-up behind a time of 2:04.99 – the fourth-fastest time in Duke history.
- Abby Geiser saved her best 60m dash performance for last, dashing her way to a runner-up finish after clocking a personal best of 7.44 seconds - No. 2 in Duke lore and just .01 off of the school record.
- Jordyn Shubrick improved on her mark in the women's weight throw for the third time in four meets. Shubrick's third attempt was her best one as she got her weight out to 19.29m (63-3.50 feet), jumping up two spots to No. 2 on the program charts.
- James Lee became just the third Duke runner to run a sub-four minute mile, clocking 3:59.22 to finish fifth among the field and slot himself third all-time in school lore.
- Beck Wittstadt finished two spots back of Lee and tallied the fourth-fastest mile time in Duke history on a run of 4:00.66.

UP NEXT
The Blue Devils will split into two groups as several members of the team will head to Nashville, Tenn., for the Music City Challenge while others make the trek to Clemson, S.C., to compete in the Tiger Paw Invitational. Both events are scheduled for Feb. 10-11.
